About

I'm Dawn Turcott and I have been a massage therapist for 28 years. I spent 18 years working for a prominent local day spa, and I decided to open my own practice in Sandy Hook, CT in 2021.

I specialize in therapeutic massage and body work, hence the name of my practice. I believe in the healing power of touch, and I work intuitively to cater to every client's individual needs.  I have learned a great deal from working on my own physical issues, and I have brought my knowledge into my practice so it will benefit my clients, too.

When I'm not working, I spend time with my husband and our three dogs hiking, practicing yoga, meditating, and enjoying nature. I am a former wildlife rehabilitator and pet sitter.

Historic Rubber Mill

27 Glen Road, known as the Rocky Glen Falls office complex, was originally built in the 1850's as a rubber mill with dam and waterfall, for Goodyear Rubber Packing Company. It since has been owned by New York Belting and Packing Co., U.S Rubber, and The Plastics Corp.

The mill is now converted into a unique office complex with more than a dozen businesses, including Therapeutic Massage and Body Works by Dawn Turcott, LMT.

The mill is surrounded by the Pootatuck River with a beautiful falling waterfall which once had a waterwheel supplying water power. The waterwheel was replaced with a horizontal turbine at some point, which is no longer operational.

The property sits directly across the river from Rocky Glen State Park, home to what is believed to be Connecticut's only natural bridge.

Serenity

My space is on the third floor is the building with views out two large windows, of the waterfall and dam. The room is quaint and serene. It has wooden beams, exposed brick walls and two large windows facing the waterfall.

You'll always feel warm and welcomed.
